No i my 08 H2 it just beeps, then you had to say on star, it then replied with on star ready, then i said blue tooth then it said blue tooth ready. It might be a little different in the H3. The fact that GM said it would not work sucks.. Not sure why they didnt want to help, not like they are loosing out unless they are getting kick backs from On Star.

 

Hi it maybe because the 2008 vcim boxes back are made by motorola and 2009 up are made by LG or it could be which model the vcim comes out of so the programming is different in the box. When you use the steering wheel buttons mine adds one step to make a call and my vcim is from a 2009 hummer h2. No big deal the bluetooth works great.
