yes it works solid,i pullud up to my ;pontiac and saw the reflection,no blink, the fogs are on period with the headlights.

no i did zero mods to any wiring, just picked a constant source ov 12v for the same diode so i dont know, right now why no indicator. yes the fog sw does nothing because the relay is on as soon as the hd lites sw is on or?, it gets dark!! i didnt think to cover the sensor. let me know if you think of anything im missing. you gotta look at the diagram to "see"what all goes on.
im wondering if we will want to kill fogs,,,and cant with this setup.

edit ,,actually, the bcm controls the fog indicator, but the big 6 inch thick 11lb service manual does non show the complete diagram in human understandable form. kinda piecemeal . the basics are there but details hard to figure. id like to know someone else can get a look,,,2nd opinion!! to cross check me if im missing something.

edit 7:55 all ok. indicator is on,,,always,,no blink,,all lites work normal.
i pulled the new fog fuse, kinda handy, and the h3 is back to foctory,as a double check, fog switch works normal. fuse back fog on always with hi/lo and fog indicator is on.
sorry for confusion but i know if im not sure u probably aint messin!!. its aok!!the blink is ded!....solid lights for the first time,,,TONIGHT

well Tom, I picked up the diod and a add a circuit fuse thingy like you had, which fuse did you tap into, or does it matter.

When you depress the fog lamp switch you're closing a circuit that feeds the fog lamps AND the indicator light. By installing the diode and drawing current off the headlamp to feed the fogs, you're providing power 'downstream' of the switch. The indicator light thinks the switch is still in the off position.

Default sorry again for the confusion

when i first tested, i pulled up to my pontiac ,daylight, so i could see reflection. i could not see the fog indicator,it was on,anytime the fogs are on,for any reason.
the fog sw feeds a signal to the fog module, which lights the indicator. since the diode feeds just the fog relay nothing could "know" the relay is on. having said that i dont know why its "on"!!

btw eng off,key on,fog sw turns fogs on/off as normal.

btw,2 either hd light works same.

also if u wanted to kill the fogs,u could plug in a blown fuse in the fog circuit with two wires soldered to the fuse pins,,,and add a switch. will it ever end!!

Is there a fuse that is only hot when the parking lights are on? On a previous vehicle, I replaced the signal wire on the foglight relay with a wire that was hot when the parking lights were on. This allowed the fog light switch to operate normally but removed the restriction that required high beams to be on.
