Default Can pulling a vehicle with the front shackles in a recovery scenario be bad?

What I'm asking is, somebody on a hummer video on youtube said that the guy with the hummer pulling a stuck tractor trailer with his front shackles, in reverse, could damage the front axle. Is this true? I've never heard of this

While performing a recovery anything can happen (as we found out in moab last month) but if you take the correct precautions it all should be right.
It also depends on the size of the tractor and weather it is in a position to help

So there is no difference in towing a vehicle in reverse w/ the front shackles or going forward with the rear shackle?

Default tow trucks,wreckers,hummers

all different

each has a purpose

hummers are not wreckers

hummers are not tow trucks

hummers are smaller and therefore not as strong

hummer tow rings are primarily to get hummers pulled by tow trucks

not to pull tow trucks

ill call them a tow truck on my cell phone
