Hello so I just got a new head unit to put in my 07 and started to install it realizing that I bought the wrong plug (to avoid having to hardware)I just wanted to get the radio in and working I cut the factory plug and hard wired it,there are a couple wires along with what I think is the onstar plug didn't get used,2 purple a thick orange,1 grey,and 1 black.

Not sure if they have anything to do with why the only thing working on my heat/ac controls is the blower speed selector,any help is greatly appreciated

Btw I bought an oem plug to get it done the right way

 

slow down. make a super effort to restore EVERY wire EXACTLY as it was. its always best to use heat shrink tubing and solder the wires. quite a job after chopping them up.
