You have your reasons for changing a hummer to anothervehicle.But I wil not trade my hummer for a vehicle that does less than what Hummer can handle. In a Hummer, you standout and you can do some seiorus maneuvers. I wouldconsider a Range Rover, but i just dont think they do as much. Sooner or latr you wil be back.

Yes, Jap is slang for Japaneses-and in any context I've ever heard it expressed it was said with a derogatory implication. It does carry negative connotations. Yank can be used either way and has been accepted as a common reference as well as a derogatory comment. Sure, ask an American soldier what they call Japanese people. Then ask a Japanese person how they feel about being called a Jap. The term Jap has not been at the forefront of American thinking like other racial slang, and many havent't considered it to be negative despite the fact that is how it is received.

As to a soldier who has served like I have, You are not as soon to forgive your enemies..although it is the christian thing to do. But the Japanese have been unfair in the world business market too, making it very difficult to compete. It is extremely difficult to import american cars into the Japanese market place as the Government has restrictions in place and extreme penalties on imports..plus the government subsidizes the Japanese manufacturers. There is no way we can compete and they know that.
If we didn't buy imports the Japanese wouldn't come to the United States to manufacture goods. Those American jobs created by foreign manufacturers would be employed by Detroit as they made American cars and all profits would stay here in America.
My method is to buy local, buy Ohio and buy USA. Sometimes you just can't do that. I recently bought a 42" LCD Flat Screen HDTV. It's a Samsung. Americans no longer make TVs. They were squeezed out of the market. Hell even my DELL computer has half the parts manufactured in Mylasia. It's getting tougher to be a redneck!

DVader, I did chrome bumpered Vettes in the late 80s all big block roadsters, except for one Steel Cities Grey '72 Coupe, A/C and a 270HP small block that I put McClaren Heads on and converted the ignition to breakerless electronic. The sound of that small block was sooooooooo sweet! That little thing has left some fond memories with me. Not the most powerful, but one of the very best cars I have ever owned. Had to switch to all Oldsmobiles when kids came along so the whole family could cruise together!

I can tell already that I will have more issues with the H3, but no matter to me. Cars have issues, and I love the H3 enough to work through any issues that arise. That's what a warranty isfor after all.
The japanese auto (or german, or british, etc.) bashing is childish.
I admit that, to some anyway,going from a Hummer to theInfinitymight seem a curious trade, but people move on and want to experience new things. My friends and family love the H3, but it raised a few eyebrows when I mentionedI was trading the Murano for it. To go from something more smooth and sleekand refined to something more rugged. But they respected my choice regardless of their opinions.

I've been driving detroit steel ever since I turned 16.
Its no secret that Michigan could be a little better economically but I think its safe to say thatthose of us that stay here have an appreciation for the benefits of keeping it local and supporting eachother. That good ole midwest vibe that there is something bigger in life than just how good of a valueYOU can get.
