broken radio antenna
I had to purchase a new radio antenna base because someone broke my antenna off and damaged the threads. How do I replace the base? I was hoping it was a pretty easy swap and when I looked at it today it looks like I might have to remove the entire front quarter panel to get behind the wall and plug in the new base mount. I hope I was able to describe this right and someone with this experience can help me out. Thanks
After taking a look at mine, I think your best bet would be to remove the inner fender clips, and reach in through there. The first pic shows the clips. The second pic is looking in through the door jamb. If you have long fingers I suppose you could go in through there. It looks like the radio mount consists of 1 piece on the inside of the body and 1 piece on the outside plus the black cover. Since the only reason you're changing it is because of the threads why not just leave the inside piece in place and replace the broken half on the outside? The other components should still be fine.
**Seond pic is on its side. It should be rotated 90 degrees, counter-clockwise.
