LOL..Wow those babies held good..But I agree with youtoo..these mini brakes they use for the parking are pretty weak and easy to drive off with them still applied...I guess GM decided to use this style so if you were offroading and the rotors were all slopped up with mud and dirt you could still apply the parking brake to hold you on and incline or something senerio like that..probably more for the manual tranny versions...
Does the H2 use this same style of parking brakes?

Wow, I can relate to this. My CTS had BAER Big Brakes installed about 5,000 miles! Both rear rotors warped! I don't do panic stops or abuse my brakes but I do some spirited driving. I thought maybe I had some debree on the rotors. I tried to burn it off by braking while gassing it. It didn't help.
No warranty so I'm waiting for some UUC drilled rotors to replace them.

It's the front brakes that take most of the heat and abuse. It surprised me to see the rear rotors warp.[:@]

One thing to understand, is that the rear rotors on most cars (I don't know chit about CTSs), are not vented like the front ones and they tend to hold the heat of friction longer before they can cool off...I'm inclined to beleive that is why a lot of warpage usually happens to the rears more so than the fronts..but you are right, most braking distribution is a 80/20 or 60/40displacement.

GM has had a problem with rotors on a couple of models. I worked at a cadillac dealer for 7 years and everyone had brake pulsations. You could cut the rotors but it would always come back eventually. the only way to never have a problem again is to put on the cheap aftermarket rotors.

Amen to that brother...I have replaced the Rotors on about everything I've ever owned to an Aftermarket brand..The last job I did was on the JAG last month and I put EBC sports and Akebono Euro ceramic Pads...Totally perfect match....Totally quiet and clean with excellent, if not better than OM braking qualities.
