Default Bose audio issue

From the 1st day I got my 05 H2 I've heard some alternator whine through the speakers. I noticed that when I turn on the rear audio portion (behing the center console) most of the whine goes away. Well, I planned on swapping out the head unit anyway so now I still get the darn alterator whine. If I smack that rear stereo thing the whine will quiet down but I still hear some up front. Is it possible to run my new head units output to the output side of the bose amp under the center console to power the speakers or does any know of a typical or usual cause for the alternator whine issue. Any help would be great.

Hello,
It sounds like you may have an audio grounding problem.
Try to make sure that your audio system is grounded properly.
When you smack something and it subsides the symptoms, that means that somewhere, something or a connector or wire is loose or not making good contact.

Default Question for SafariHummerH2

Hello,
I drive a 2004 Hummer H2 with the factory bose stereo (no navigation) and I am planning on upgrading the factory stereo using 3 kicker cvr 12" subwoofers. Im also going to upgrade the 6.5" component speakers along with the tweeters in each door to aftermarket component speakers from alpine. Both the sub setup and component will have their own amps. Considering all this, I would prefer to use the factory head unit.

What Line output converter can I use in order to run this setup where the subs and components have their own amplifier? 4 channel? 5 channel?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated....

Sounds like your amp is going bad. If you need parts to make your new stereo work properly in your H2 check out www.pac-audio.com

This is who we use for many our aftermarket car stereo install parts.
