Default Body Rust issues

Hey gang... got an 05 H2 from Arizona and love it. Living in da UP of Michigan rust is a serious concern, especially since this truck is a definite keeper.

I don't see any mention of body panel rusting on H2s, either because it doesn't happen or because nobody seems concerned. I want to get ahead of the game since this truck has never seen road salt.

Where do H2s rust out?

BTW: Under 100k miles with Magnacharger makes this a ton of fun to drive.

Other than surface rust on things like the exterior spare tire carrier and rock rails the only rust that I have had to have repaired on either my 2003 or 2008 H2s was an area over the left rear wheel (quarter panel).

Now if you want to know about other corrosion concerns, keep an eye on your brake lines. Replaced the third one this week on the 03. Lots of fun when you lose the ability to stop 3 tons of steel.

I haven't seen many threads on the actual body rusting over all these years. Mostly undercarriage. I'm working on removing all my surface rust and coating with POR-15 as we speak. You'd just have to get under the thing and go to work.
