Body color Brush guard?

Body color Brush guard?
Well I finally have my H3. (Will load some pics later today after I give her the weekend bath and wax job)
Now my question is has anyone purchased the black brushguard and had it repainted to match their body color?
I do have the chrome mirrors and door handles and chrome rims, and im also going to be adding the chrome tow hooks as well, but the chrome brushguard is just IMO too much chrome. I have a friend in north Tx that paints vehicles and he said that we could order the black brushguard and then sand it down to remove the black and then we could match the body color from the GM color code, and finish it off with a nice solid clear coat to prevent any sun damage.
Just curious if anyone has done this or not.

I don't think anyone on this forum has repainted black to their body color... but... I would suggest that you give the black Brush Guard a chance... it looks great against the chrome grill, even with chrome accents in the front and the chrome lower grill...

If you are going offroad with the H3, you need to choose the chrome tow hooks carefully. Many (if not all) do not have the strength of the OEM ones. And that's something you don't want breaking when you try and ****** a jeep over the rocks. If you're keeping it pavement, bling on!
I second Muddy - you may be surprised how good the black looks. It does complement the black/gray of other parts of the H3. Matching the body color does sound intriguing, though.

It really depends on the color of the vehicle...I think it wouldn't look good if it was a lighter color...but a darker color might look very cool...for me the less chrome the better...everywhere!

I agree with Muddy also, the black against the chrome looks nice IMO.
There is another pic in my Photo Gallery of the 06 Superior Blue we had with the same set-up if you want more comparison's
Good Luck

Well I do plan on keeping it on the pavement, so adding the chrome tow hooks wouldn't be an issue. My H3 is the bright yellow so im thinking that the black brushguard (if painted thebody color) would be a nice contrast to the dark grey bumpers and other dark parts and even against the chrome grill as well.
Rhill20 did Katskins do the pink inserts on the doors aswell as the seats, did you have them custom done or did you do them yourself? I was also thinking of doing minein the yellow as well.
