I'm getting the Goodyear MT/Rs this week...they are great in snow, and not to noisy. A lot of my friends are running them and as long as you rotate with every oil change you won't have any issues.
Other than those I would say the BFG TA/KOs are a good all around tire....never had any problem with them...but just wanted something different.

Well , i put them on my H3 last year a week before a major wisconsin blizzard. the day of the blizzard at 6 am, my driveway had over 2 feet of snow and the streets were not touched yet. the deep snow did not slow my commute to work, just the other drivers in cars . i just put a new set of 265 Duratracs on my 07 Suburban 2500 HD and expect the same performance.

Those duratracs are all terrain correct? You get any vibration or road noise? Hard to balance?

They are actually rated as a Mud & Snow tire primarily for commercial light truck fleets. One of the tires (L/Front) required no weights for balancing. they run REAL smooth and very quiet. The 315's on my H3 required a bit more weights on them

The DuraTracs do indeed come in the standard size for H2's (315/70/17). They are excellent in the snow and are very quiet on a dry road. I know, you want it all, so here's a link.

The factory BFG's are excellent tires for snow. In fact they offer everything you are looking for.

Still waiting for some major snow in Wisconsin. Put some Federal MT's on a couple months ago and were great in the mud. Looking forward to testing it in the snow. The stock BFG's worked good the past couple of years.

Bridgestone Blizzaks are hands down the very best snow tire for any vehicle! The factory BFG's are horrible in comparison to Blizzaks.

Default BFG A/T ok off road but......

Two years in a row I've done a 180 in my driveway and wound up back in the street!
8-12" of fluffy stuff over pavement on a steep incline! The footprint is too big and cant pack down before it shears in the middle. Not to mention on an 03 can't turn off T/C to get enough wheel spin to clear the treads.
Was looking at some MT's for winter. It dosen't get out much, and I got a good deal on a full set of chromes (5) with decent tires last year. So I wanted to get a set for winter.
