Best way to remove head unit/nav unit?

orrrr.....you can make a little tool like this one. I bent a piece of coat hanger to have a small hook at one end, and a 'T' shape at the other for the handle. Inside the 12v receptacle on the passenger side, there's a rectangular cutout all the way in, at about the 5 o'clock position. Insert the tool hook into the cutout, give it a sharp tug, and the trim panel will pop free in that area. Then you just work around it by hand to free the rest of the clips. IMPORTANT!!: Use heat shrink tubing as an insulator to cover the straight part and hook, as, otherwise you will short the positive terminal inside to the outer section, and blow your fuse. I also wrapped electrical tape around the handle, and used some vinyl caps I had for the hook tip, and handle ends. This thing has come in handy more times then I can count, with all the times I've pulled the panel.
