I need to tape down a seat pad in the pass. seat of my H3. It's going to sit under a seat cover so it can't move around. I thought about sowing it in, but don't want to do that unless I have to.

Does anybody know of some really strong, perhaps industrial-strength double-sided tape for cloth surfaces? I'm assuming there is some good carpet tape out there, but it needs to hold this pad in place from sliding around when getting in and out of the truck.

I'm trying to make the pass. seat more comfortable for my wife for our road trips. I will probably be getting a back pad or massaging pad to put under the cover as well.

I have to make her want to take trips to Rausch every month or so

 

I use a double-sided turning tape from Lee Valley Tools, this tape is crazy strong. This is an industrial-quality tape with a heavy, high-tack rubber/resin adhesive on both sides of a cotton backing. I only use this one in my shop and around the house.

 

Can you buy it at a hardware store or is it only available to businesses?

 

I bought a seat cushion for the kitchen tables and put it in my truck...... My seat cover holds it tight enough that it doesn't move... if you really hook that flap that goes through the pivot point good you should be fine... I can do 6 hours straight in the cargo van that never had nice seats to start with...

Yup I have some of that in Black and Red, but it's not double-sided unless I loop it and I'm afraid the adhesive will melt into the seat from heat and I'll never get it off, of course, that would justify new seats

I'm like the budget Hummer upgrader.
