Default Battery Suggestions

It's battery replacement time in my '08 Alpha. Can I get some recommendations that people have had luck with other than going with a high end Optima? Thanks

Might I suggest going with an AGM battery. We went with a larger size than stock with a lot more CCAs and reserve. Slight modifications to the bottom of the battery box are required (cutting) and a slightly longer bolt for the strap.

I will have to look at the group # after work.

Thanks Mark, but since I don't do any off roading, have a winch, or an aftermarket high power sound system, I am just looking for a reliable 'drop in' replacement. I know Sam's, Costco, Autozone, etc. all have their own brands, so other than another Delco I was wondering if there might be something as good.

higher power is not needed for regular running. i ran mine on a lawn tractor small batt just to prove it.
i look at warr and buy the biggest that will fit from a z or wally.
actually i have 2 batts and glad i do when main goes dead i can jump from backup. great security.

Just get the OEM size AGM then. They last longer because they don't have plates in them.

Do you folks in Michigan have farm and fleet stores?
I purchased both gfs and mine for both h3s there and they were the best ones they sold at the time. Platinum series. 3 years no hassle replacement. 7 years pro rated.
As batteries go they're pretty good. Exchange two or three times with no problems.
Under $99 for each one.
