no prob, ray. we'll just have to go crazy out there on the trails and make everyone jealous . let me know if you want to coordinate a meeting place, or if you just want to meet out there. i know mark mentioned one a while back (albertson's?) when he was available to go. i figure we can just post the time/place to meet, and maybe some others will jump on at the last minute. its a little over 2 hrs to get out there, so i plan on leaving dallas around 8ish. let me know what you think...

dave

ps - tex, you can nowdono wrong in my book. firing lyle cleansed the soul.

HD, I'm still going.

I'd love to get a higher head count, but flakiness is a Dallas affliction (just messing w/ ya, mark...and everyone else flaking out).

Dave
Ya know......I would expect nothing less from ya........

Again, you guys don't know how sorry I am to have to beg off on this one. With that other deal
I was telling you and HD about, it will be at least January before I can get this thing out again.
I may have to just sign on as a spotter or window washer on the next trip.....

You guys have a great damn time and take a butt-load of pics......Cause I'll be temporarily,
living vicariously through you guys......

Hey guys be sure to post the pics. I am originally from Waco and am currently stuck in California. You guys are making me awfully homesick with all the talk about Barnwell and Texas. By the way I have used a Cobra 38 WX ST and a Midland 75 822 handhelds with external antennae and they have worked well at THCI, HH events and when my wife and I take the Hummers to the mountains. We can get up to 2-3 miles range out of these things. They cost about $90.00. Damn I want to come home....

OK guys...............Did you make it back alive ?

Where are the damn pictures?

Don;t make me call you.

BTW: I used a Cobra 38 WX ST on that Sewell outing this past weekend and
it performed wonderfully. Ran it off some Walgreen's alkaline super cell bats
and the rubber ducky anmtenna....I was very surprised. Never had to deploy the
external antenna or external speaker I bought for it. I think maybe the furthest I got
with it was 1.5 miles line of sight.....For a run like that, it was perfect.
Tucked very nicely into the oh-**** handle on the drivers side door.

I'll have to try out my Motorola GMRS units on the next run.....

OK, OK.... I didn't get many pics. Mainly because I spent 99% of the time with two hands on the wheel and it was just me and Dave. So anyway, here's a few pics I took.

Trails were narrow and very rocky, lots of brush on both sides on every trail, here's an example of a Level 2 trail:

Dave went down a tight chute ahead of me, really steep and rutted out BIGTIME, he got hung up and pulled a MAJOR Tripod, I swear it looked like his right rear wheel was 4 feet off the ground and I was surprised his airbags didn't deploy, it was pretty nasty. I got my tow strap out and hooked him up and was going to try to pull him back so he could re-enter the chute at a different angle but he managed to rock it slowly and carried on, then..... it was my turn.

Did I mention how tight the trails are there?

Dave is kinda into hill climbing and when we found this hill at the end of the day he was pumped... you can see him walking the hill before trying it out.

I don't know if it was wilder going up it or down it.
