Lightbulb Ball joint flip for more front end lift?

Has anyone tried this on an H3? it seems that other IFS groups are currently doing it and adding spacers to fix the front shaft angles. Here is a link to the Chevy forum with pictures:

Let me know if you think there is any merit to the idea...

Here is another link for front diff spacers to adjust the shaft angles after a lift. Any thoughts?

We have aluminum UCA that don't have serviceable ball joints, so there is no way to flip them like on the Colorado/Canyon

H3s are just a Colorado with different body parts.

Well that kills the ball joint idea. As you can tell, I have not gotten that deep into the H3 front end yet. How about the diff spacers?

Smiling on the Chevy comment. I to read the book that although the H3 started as a Chevy Z71, after the Hummer engineers had broken and redesigned the parts, less the 5% of the Chevy remained...

I don't believe that should stop us from listening and learning from anyone we can. It my not be interchangeable, but the concepts of the IFS are the same.

I would stay away from the diff spacers, they place more stress on an already weak diff mount bushing.

The front diff spacers also wreak havoc on the H3s front driveshaft joints. A few have tried them and have had to replace the front driveshaft due to this issue. They removed the spacers while replacing the driveshaft.

Plus it lowers the front diff which decreases the clearence between the front diff and the ground. The OEM skid plate will need to be cut open for the dropped diff to fit.

Hope this helps.

I'm getting the feeling that all of this has been thought through a long time ago... Sorry for a rehash, but I'm behind the curve. Seems like a lot of littles could compensate for the lift and equally distribute the changes amongst the other components...
