The Camera has the guide lines, it should say in the info if it has guide lines. The front camera I have has 3 extra little wires that depending how you join them can have guide lines or not and can reverse image so looking forward is right. I activated both options as kind of like the lines. Here is the front view and the little 2 dollar switch from auto parts store.
A frt cam can only be done effectively if you have the video in motion safety feature bypassed on system so it will input video if vehicle is in gear. If interested in frt cam google a parking brake bypass on what ever brand and model radio you have.

Good Luck and take care

I was curious about those cameras when I was doing mine Mr. Fancy Pants. I was just not sure how the view would be from the side but that is a very nice view and I like the simplicity and price. Approx how far behind right rear do you pick up an object as this would be good info for others or if my driveway attracts another h3.

The camera angles as well so you can fine tune the position of it (up/down). I will place something in the driveway later and grab a video of it and post it up.

I took a video of the distance before backing up, during and after. I used a cover to a foam cooler which sits off the ground about an inch or so.

I like it but my wife would be confused LOL, I just noticed in video your camera is not mirrored so you see things backwards. Now I know I could have put 1 of those on my front and would not have had to drill frt bumper. Thank you very much for the info and the vid.

Yeah, I didn't notice the mirrored issue until today lol. I think my received has a setting for that, will have to look lol. We mainly use it in addition to the mirrors just to make sure there isn't a small child back there in parking lots and what not. Always use our mirrors first!

before you change the configuration of your cam Mr. Fancy Pants, double check it. Coz i watched your video several times and i think it's already mirrored for reverse. I based it on where the cooler cover is on the screen while it's actually along the center line of the vehicle, plus the two bushes - 1 small & 1 big. But i could be wrong. Anyway, i think your night vision is superb! I might also install it as a forward cam but mainly as a night vision assistant...could be very useful one day

No jo2, his lid is in the middle of the vehicle so it should disappear out the other side of the picture, and when you see the cam video has no bush on left side of driveway but in screen on back up cam there is a big bush on what would be the left. Or easy way would be sitting in Drivers seat and look over right shoulder no bush, so in cam on right side should be no bush. But as he said the mirrors work good and it is only a quick check for anything right behind vehicle. Also it is a great picture with lots of distance so no biggie.
Have a good day

@wanderer32, does the mini camera have night vision? I found sellers located in China that says it has night vision in the title but not in the description. Does yours have? thanks..

It does not say night vision Jo2, and I do not see any red leds like the front one. I think it is .2 Lux which it will see real good in very dim light but the backup lights make it plenty bright. Here is the model to try in google -CAMERA CMD 160- and Ikes sound is one of the places that comes up with a phone number, that is who I got it from on ebay. The same looking camera also shows up on the 800eshop. I will try to get a couple pics tonight when it is dark out.
