Auto Insurance - What's the best and cheapest?
Check Liberty Mutual. They are the cheapest I've ever found. I tried Allstate and they were 200 more per vehicle, Geico was almost 400 more a year, GMAC was 350 more a year, and esurance, that internet insurance, wanted for just 6 months what I pay for a whole year.

My house can't flood because it's raised above the street so in theory maybe a part of the basement could flood in which case there's nothing down there anyway to damage really.

Jenn is so right about you being underinsured at 50k/100k. Please do yourself the favor of raising itup to 100k/300k. It shouldn't cost very much more at all.
I just recently consolidated both my auto and homeowners insurance and switched to AAA. I had my homeowners with Allstate ever since I bought the house some 20 years ago but their lack of correspondence with me finally made them loose me as a customer. My auto insurance was with Mercury but they were playing the same games with the premiums as mentioned earlier here so I said bye-bye to them too. I haven't had to use AAA's service yet so I'll have to wait and see. I saved $600/year by making this switch. Not too shabby.

AAA service is good if and only if, you live in a major metropolis, and have a normal car. I was driving a Z28 coming back from a car show when the DIS went out.... I called AAA and they sent out an idiot that told me he could only tow me 5 miles and he ripped the chin spoiler off of the car grinding it up on the flatbed.... Lucky for me I was close enough to Creamridge, NJ and 3 miles up the road was ECS whom supercharged a C5 I built.
