audio wire
any 1 have the wire diagram for the audio. i wana hard wire my pioneer gps system so it comes out of the speakers, pioneer sells a amp for my unit but it says it wont work with a factory premium sound system that has a amp so i figure since i have a amp for the monsoon system i can just tap in to that so any help would be great and some instructions.
The monsoon radio system runs on low voltage pre amp outputs. Just like RCA jacks do, if you tap into them or run higher voltage before the amp, you will damage the amplifier or get serious feedback noise at the very least. Depending on the power output of your GPS, you may be able to use the speaker wires found in each door panel but you would have to isolate each wire to make sure there wouldn't be a feed back problem. The issue with doing this is that the GPS unit now uses the same speaker as your radio. Meaning it will not pause the radio, only play simultaneously if both units are on. One may drowned out the sound of the other.
My suggestion would be to purchase an adapter from PAC. They manufacture specific ONSTAR interface products that may do the trick with your monsoon system. Try www.pac-audio.com, That should help.
