maybe the wifi hotspot at starbucks messed up the laser on the cd player . . . . . .

or, i could just be talkin' out my *** again, since it's an H3 subject . . . . .
As I sit in my Advanced Wireless Networks class, pretendling like I'm typing notes but actually looking at hummerforums.com I can tell you with a pretty high confidence that a WiFi signal (electromagnetic) could not throw off a CD player laser (optical). Maybe the sun shined in, was amplified by a bottle of water, bounce off the door handle. Hit the keys and bounced off a dime in your up holder, into the CD changer...throwing off hte laser. Actually I'm pretty positive thats what happened.
Let me tell you something buddy: Those classes can't prepare you for what you're going to find in the real world. Just remember: What you read in a book and what really happens are two different things. That's speaking from experience, of course

Amen. I just want that piece of paper calling me a master. I was told that when you graduate high school, you think you know everything, when you get your bachelors, you know you know everything, when you get your masters you realize you know nothing and when you get your PhD, you realize you will never know anything.

I've got a real answer for you now. I just figured this one out driving down the highway today..kind of neat actually..the stereo system mutes itself if it detects a skip from a bad CD instead of playing the re-mixed version. Smart!

I had something like that happen this weekend also. I went to eject a CD I was listening to (NIN) and it said NO CD, then when I hit it again, it said Check CD. How the hell am I supposed to check the CD when it's stuck inside the radio? Nice design I powered it off and on a few times, and was able to get the CD out.

Strange.
