Default Anyone using Truck-Lite LED Headlamps?

Hello All,

OK, I just traded my 2007 H3 Adventure for a 2006 H2 Lux. Already thinking of functional/aesthetic mods. I'm a bit obsessed with lighting so I'm going to get IPCW LED tail lights and was looking into HID headlight assemblies.

I had the STARR HID complete assemblies on my H3 and I loved them. I wish they were the same for the H2 as I would have swapped them over. However, at another $1,000 I was looking for less expensive alternatives. Anyone have any experience with these: http://www.teakatoys.com/Hummer_H1_H.../tl-27250c.htm

They appear to be 10 high-output LEDs in each lamp. Looks good in the pictures but I wonder how they compare to STARR HIDs in output, beam pattern, etc.?

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I installed a $300 HID set in my H2 and the high beam circuit would not work. I ended up sending them back. Those LED sets look great and I like the fact that they are Made in USA. $700 is a lot of money.

I had the same high beam issue with my HID turned out the wiring was backwards on the harness to the ballast.

That happened to me too! The high beam issue.... I ended up getting another harness and it solved everything. Love my HIDS!

I used to run Bi-xenon HID's on my h2. It was SUPER bright and people (especially those in sedans or shorter cars) would always give me the finger cause they thought I was hi-beaming them.

About 6 months in, I changed the entire headlight housings to projectors. While slightly dimmer than the Bi-xenon HID's I previously had, I felt like the projectors provided more use-able light. This effect might be attributed to how the lens projects and focuses the light to a certain area as opposed to a bright, but scattered, HID bulb.

Here's a picture of my current set up:

Regarding your question though: I don't think the LED's would ever be as bright as HID's. Not to mention, it seems like that for that price, you can get yourself a decent HID set up already.

But if you're really crazy about lighting, check out the set up I have. I believe I bought them from xenondepot but I'm not sure if they're still available though as I bought them about 4 years ago.

I tell you those LED headlights look awesome and priced right at $525. They look ultra bright but you cant get a blueish color for it, but the whiter color will produce more useable light. They would probably be really really bright. I think these are the same ones the military bought. These would also use less power which would also free up more power for other stuff and very slightly increase gas milage.

Some good info on these lights here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=200649
