Default Anybody had a Huge Problem with a High Mile H3?

Mine only has 32,000 miles but my friend has a 2006 Hummer H3 with 133,000? miles and he had to get an almost whole new engine.

Your question doesn't provide much information, but what part of the engine did he not have to get?

Without knowing any details, and not intending to insult your friend, but it all depends on maintenance. Some are all over it, others think rotating tires is done when you drive?

I can think of a friend's 06 that has been driven all over, wheeled all over, has well over 100K, and his son who is still driving it every day.

I don't think he did take very good care of it. He didn't change the oil when it was supposed to or anything so that could be the thing.

You are comparing a 2006 3.5L 133K with little to no maintance to a 2007 3.7L 32k with I assume regualr maintance? Head issues on the early build 3.5L alone without his/her lack of maintance would greatly effect the "huge problem". No engine will last longer without maintance VS a well maintained engine.

That is true. I will make sure I take care of mine.

I'm about to turn 80K and no engine trouble. I did have to get a new transmission at about 50K but I think that is because I pulled too much weight with it (that repair was covered 100% under the warranty).

When/if this engine dies I'm sending it out to Mash Motors for a V8 conversion!

Mine 2006...has 144k...runs and looks new( inside -out and underneath...just beginning to add to it......I saw one for sale here in canada with 235k asking 12000.00...I think if you look after any north american vehical you can extend its life as far as most foreign vehicals
