Do you have the stock monsoon sound system? I have that now and am happy with the sound of my stock head unit and wanted to know how the sound afterwards compares. I'd rather not add another amp or sub. I've done that before with other cars and I'm hoping to put my money into other upgrades with my 08 H3.

 

Yes I have the stock monsoon system, so no real big gain in sound. But if you want a 7" touch screen, DVD, Nav, HD radio, XM/Sirius Radio, Ipod Integration it is just one of your many options. Nav, HD/Satellite radio can be added at any time if you dont want to do it all at once. I plan to upgrade speakers and sub eventually so this is just the first step.

 

Cool, I didn't figure on gaining too much sound by just replacing the head unit, but I didn't want to lose any of my original sound either.

 

I am sure your happy with it.....but to me it looks to me that the unit sticks out a little?...doesnt sit flush...at least according to your pis...also....it looks that the bracket installed is warped?

i am thinking of having the same unit installedd in my H3 but after looking at those pics...i am wondering whether i should or not...does the unit sit flush?

dont install a ALPINE IVA 505 IN ANY HUMMER H3.

i should of not second guessed myself.....in my earlier post...i told who ever was reading this post that i didnt think that the unit looked right.....but i thought i would find out for myself...i had the ALPINE IVA 505 installed by a pro shop...Muntz Stereo in Sault Ste Marie....and guess what?///,,,,,,i had the dam thing taken out.....the end result ....the product sits too far out....the bracket that is installed with the product does not fit properly .Would not open or close properly....you cant even access any set up menus even when the vehicle is shut off and the emerg brake on etc....its a piece of crap.
I had the factory system re installed and got a complete refund...totally disgusted with Alpine.


alpine is not what it use to be.....try something else???.....i wouldnt and will not....if anything i wil consider a factory gps system.
