Air Lines under Hood
Hi,
I have a 2008 H3. I am curious to know what the Plastic lines are under the hood that are right near the Hinges of the Hood. They are on top and easily accessed with the hood up. It looks like they go into the Cab of the vehicle. I thought they were Windshield Wiper Fluid lines, but they aren't. They are close to the Wipers though on both sides. Can anyone help me out? Reason I ask, is they weren't connected when I bought the vehicle. I connected them, but it didn't seem to change anything as far as the engine is concerned.

I have 2 on the passenger side; I believe they are wiper/washer lines, front & rear. I also have one on the driver side, not sure about that one, maybe another front squirter (separate lines for each blade?)?. I'll try to take some pics tonight and post them for Doc.
On a related note, my rear washer doesn't spray; I can hear the pump running, but nothing comes out at the back window. Gotta do some sleuthing.

I tried at least 15-20 seconds...nothing. I'll try to get around to troubleshooting it this weekend.
Have you had a look at the washer fluid tank? The tank is a split reservoir, if you have a leak in the rear system (I say this because some did) then once the rear feed runs dry it won't matter how long you hold the button. The default is to the front. So, when very low on washer fluid, the front works, but not the rear. Top it off, then try it.
Ok, dig into this a bit more. For the OP, there are two lines on the passenger side and one on the driver side; all 3 are for the washers. On the passenger side, the one with grey fitting is for the front washers. The one with black is for the rear; strangely enough, that one then runs across to the driver side and drops back into the engine compartment where it goes through a quick-release and then into the wire harness for its trip to the back of the truck.
On mine, both pumps work fine and spray fluid. Rear squirter is also ok. I traced my rear washer problem to the section of hose between the quick-release and the rear door (clogged somewhere in the wiring harness!). Air pressure won't dislodge the blockage. I'm going to run a new line from front to rear, but that's a project for another day as the transition from body to rear door will require removal of the left rear interior panel.
