Default Air Leaks

Hey guys, I actually have 2 problems with my H3 that I'm planning on having inspected.

When I hit about 75-80 on the freeway there is extreme buzzing from the bottom corners of my windshield from the wind.

The second problem is that the back door of the H3 seems to go up and down when going over speed bumps. When you open the door and drive over bumps it is fine bt when it is closed it slams down. I think that the locking mechanism is loose.

Have you guys ever seen or heard of any problems like this before?

It is an 06' H3 in amazing condition, I'm always doing maintinence on it.

Well when you are driving a brick at 75-80 mph you apt to get a little wind noise. Could be dried leaves in your vent?

The second problem you answered yourself. Check your hinges to see if the're loose.

Wind noise is a common problem. Take it to the dealer and they will fix you up.

Just got mine fixed last week.

your hinges are probably good but i would check the alignment of the plastic wedge that is on the main body by your latch if it came loose that is what lines your door up.

cool deal.

yeah i understand that the car isn't exactly aerodynamic but you should feel wind resistence and not hear the sound of about 2000 bees all the time.

it gets damn loud, ill take it to the dealership on monday.

thanks for the replies.

Forum members have had both issues. I've had the occasional air leak around my windshield but not too often. It's really only noticeable on windy days and at highway speeds. I figure I'll address it whenever I need a new windshield.

As for the rear door, it is the adjustment of the wedge shaped catch attached to the frame. Do a search and you'll find some others talking about it. I just took it to the dealer for adjustment.

Haven't had the windshield noise problem on the 3 but on my 2 it was a common problem and the dealers were removing and reinstalling the windshield. No problems after that.

Awesome. I was just thrown off a bit because the first Hummer dealership I went to gave up on the rear door problem because they were a new, and amateur, dealership.

I hope going to a new one will be different.

Also, I was thinking about changing the coolant in the car but when I called the mechanic gave me the 20 questions on it because GM recommends Dex. What do you guys recommend there?
