Default Air Intake Cover Lights

Has anyone found a way to mount lights on the Air covers next to the windshield?
Mounting to the cover itself would not be stornd enough. I am look into fabing up some brackets, but was wondering if someone may have already done it. Why reinvent the wheel.

Thanks

I wouldn't do it.
The glare off the hood blinds you so youdon't gain much.

I have done lights on the windshield on alot of my cehicles in the past. jeeps and full size blazers. I have never had a problem with glare. If you have the rihgt lights and get them mounted right, they work great.

Now those look great. To bad they're so high priced! But definitely on my wish list.

Yes, something like that. But I do not want to spend that kind of money.
Looking for a bracket like you can get for Jeeps. I know I used the "Jeep" Word! But I think I am going to get some steel and see if I cannot make something at some point. I like making something if I can, and whne it comes to than kind of money to buy something, I would rather buy the tools to do it my self.

I was really looking of someone on the Forum had already fab'ed up something. I have a few different ideas, but was looking for some input. If I am able to make something that works I will post it later.

Thanks

I am looking for extra light for when ever I need it. I drive a lot of back roads at night, and I find my self driving late at night in storms all of the time during the winter.
I do not want to drill the front end, well at least not yet, might end up doing that.
I also have always liked the way the lights look up there.

I have popped off the covers and started thinking up ways in which to make a bracket. I have a welder and cutting tools, so I just need to go down to the local metal dealer and pick up some 10 gauge strips. I am going to use the holes that are already there for the quarter panel and mount there. Will take a little bit of heating and shaping of the metal to put a little shape into it. that way I can get a more flush mount. Then run it up behind the cover and bend it down for the mount. Weld in a couple of reinforcing pieces and see how it works.

Probably will not get this done till early next year. if I can get it to work I will post picks of what I did.
