Default Air intake cover?

Do the air intake covers just pull off? Pull straight up? I want to take mine off before I take it to the dealer for the wiper module recall on Monday.

Default RE: Air intake cover?

Hello Friend,
These "AIR INTAKE COVERS" are not real.
They are referred to as a "COWL"
They are a cosmetic design for continuity purposes on the Hummer vehicle.
Yes they do just pop out straight up.
There are four underling clips which are fastened to these "COWLS" then are pushed into the vehicles chassis.
The same exact way the interior plastic door panels are fastened to the metal door frame.
If you take a small flat screw driver and carefully with out scratching the vehicle start prying upward at each corner of the cowl it will start to move upward and pop up.
See photo of my "COWL" retrofits consisting of a "BREATHER SNORKEL" and
a "SPOT/SEARCH LIGHT"

Thanks for the tip. I am going to remove the covers, wiper arms and the cowl before I take it in, so I wont have to worry about the dealer scratching things.
