ac blower wont turn off ;-(
so my lovely wife calls me today and tells me that after she started plying with the 2 memory buttons on the drivers door the ac went on and the ac blower wont stop at all even after she hit the off butrons even when the H2 its off it wont turn off at all so when she got home all i did was pull the fuse off . Any ideas what the problem may be ???? Bad resistor ?????
Your blower motor resistor is out and must be replaced . you need to get acces to the blower motor and check if you see any water around your blower motor this may be causing the resistor to go out ..
You have a bad resistor as hmer stated. just went through almost the same issue, i burned up a fan and a bunch of other things though.
i too think i got water in everything at one time and roasted it all, i replaced the controller, the resistor, and the blower fan. Module repair pro will rebuild the controller and the resistor, they are on ebay.
i couldnt find a new one from any gm dealer, carquest, or auto zone but it sounds like rock auto may have one around still. it would be worth calling them to find out (i just found this out yesterday). i dont really care any more as i finally got all of my stuff rebuilt and installed with success. i had about $275 in rebuilding everything and ended up having to buy the resistor twice since i roasted mine 3 times. i assumed that he figured it was my fault and not his parts so he charged me for another whole resistor rebuild...
anyway, good luck on them
