Im new to this forum and I hope I can find a heplful community here
the vehicle is a 2007 H3 with 119 K on the mileage
while driving in heavy traffic , you have to start -break repeatedly over a long period of time ;the shifting from 1st to second gear is not smooth , in fact it shifts abruptly almost like someone bumped into the rear of the vehicle...otherwise , in high gears all is well
anyone with suggestions please

First thing check your fluid level and make sure it's correct.
Hard shifting only from 1-2 could be a clutch pack going bad. Could also be higher line pressure or a partially stuck shift valve.
Get it scanned if you don't have a scanner of your own.
And go from there.

You know I have the same 1-2 shift and never bothered looking into it...should I? It does not bother me unless its going to be a bigger problem someday. I have canged the transmission fluid.

 

Exact thing was happening to mine when I purchased it @70k miles. I flushed the trans with BG equipment, BG quick clean, BG conditioner, and 16qts of dex VI fluid. Never had it happen again since.. GL
