6 Disc CD Changer Causing Drain.??
Yall. I’ve done it all. Each and every suggestion, I’ve done that and more. I have a new Alternator, New Fuse Panel, New XM Module, 3rd new battery, wiring harness in the back repaired, sunroof checked and OEM connectors replaced. My CD PLAYER still tries to work when the truck is off. I’m getting ready to drop another 550 on a new radio. But could this be the issue. Literally at the end of my rope here.
How do I know it is bad? I think I want to replace them all just to be safe. I am telling you I am so sick of replacing stuff and still having a drain.
They look just like this:
I had this same issue with my H2. The previous owner had wired the headrest DVD screens into the cigarette lighters so they always had power. It took me forever to figure out and I had to take the whole interior apart, tried so many things before getting to the bottom of it
Dads Checked all that. We’ve had the radio fuse pulled for 4 days now. Fired right up. Gotta be that CD player. Lights go off and everything is normal when we turn key off etc. That player just sat and spun all night. Radio man said it would take 3 days for it to drain at that rate and shorter if the batt wasn’t charged back up. It follows the timeline too of had a CD not play last July. Problems ever since. Crazy how it was EVERYTHING I mentioned above though. At the same time!!. Seriously this thing is like new now. Lol
when i got rearended, a few days later i had batt trouble and cd would not play/eject. the hit caused a cd to stick, like the read head?pulled radio and all good.
i actually took it apart and unstuck it! a very delicate job, like surgury!
rad and cd still work fine
