6.5TD to 5.9 Cummins 6BT & Allison AT545 Conversion
Hey folks looking for some help???
Stock 2000 Hummer H1 with 89,000 miles on it. Driving down the road and smell smoke coming in from the engine compartment. Suspecting #8 issue so now I am contemplating an engine swap! Lucky me that I've found a 1993 Ford B700 school bus with only 107,000 miles on it (5.9L Cummins TD 6BT w/Automatic Allison AT545, which I believe it's a 4 speed trans) for $3500.
I am located in metro Detroit Michigan and looking for advise on who to go to for the engine conversion/swap. Anyone up for the challenge? Or is this setup even possible for the H1???
Any direction would be greatly appreciated, also thanks in advance!
