I was in the SAME boat as you when I bought my first 4x4, the 4-Runner SR5. I didn't know what the hell to do! They wouldn't explain crap to me, and since it was used, it didn't have the manual, so I had to do alot of research before I started playing with things.

I read the manual and for a while didn't think the light should be on all the time either. I STILL don't understand why Hummer decided to not have an option to switch it into 2RWD only.

So to all you "Experts" out there, give the guy a break! [:@]Some of us didn't have anybody to teach them the all-might ways of the 4-Wheel-Drive drivetrain

I dunno. my H3 is my first 4x4 :P. I read the manual and lurked on the forum for a while, reading through several weeks' worth of posts. I'm a total car noob, but have learned a lot just by reading old posts here. *shrugs*

Don't worry ikao. I went through the exact same thing. I'll defend you (but it probably won't help much because of my reputation )

Don't feel bad JWIZ I've had mine for 4 months now and I'm still finding "new things" that I never noticed before. My dealer only went over the vehicle a little he said it would take awhile to familarize myself with everything on it... he wasn't wrong!
The best thing to do is take out the owners manual and read it cover to cover..
Welcome to the forum!

hehehehehehe It took me awhile (and I still go oh no from time to time) to realize that the red light on the D (drive gear) wasn't the red light saying engine problem.... hehehehehe

Don't feel bad at all we all made similar mistakes...
