If my truck was my DD and all that I had, then I would have stayed with 285s (33"). The 35's look great, but have a down side. I wheel my truck, and don't mind the negatives. Also, my Jeep gave me 10mpg, so my H3 seems like a honda compared to that thing. That pic of the 2 h3's side by side is about right (stock vs 35s).

Is your speedo corrected?? I get about 14-15 on the hwy. My speedo is corrected and i've checked with my GPS on 2 trips. To give you a head to head, I just did a road trip with another H3 to go wheeeling. Same year / engine / trans / milage, etc. His truck is bone stock with 265 (31) tires, and he is leveled. My truck is leveled, 35's, PCM, air doc, k&N, etc etc. (also run 40psi) At about 150-170 miles, I had used 1/4 tank MORE fuel than he did. There was a pretty big difference in fuel usage over the weekend between us. Bigger tire = more weight, wider foot print = more resistance, taller tire takes more power to turn, etc etc. in the end, its your truck, do what makes you happy, you only live once!!

What?? 18mpg highway? Something doesn't sound right. This is the first truck I've heard of with 35's that gets that good a mileage lol

the H3 has a 23 gallon fuel tank. I only made 2 stops to put gas in, it was a 730 mile trip, started trip on full tank with fuel system cleaner added, first gas stop i was at a 1/4 tank, topped it off and continued, second stop did the same thing except i was a little over a 1/4 tank so i filled it up and made it to my destination with 2/3 tank left. so i went through 17.25 gallons twice which equals a total of 34.5 gallons used, then from the last gas stop to arriving i went through 8 gallons. so i went through a total of 42.5 gallons used for the entire trip. so divide 730 by 42.5 and you get approximately 17.17 mpg. so i was off by less than 1 mpg.

yes my speedo was corrected right after the 35s were put on. yes it is more weight and more resistence, but once you get it up to a highway speed, it is easier for the vehicle to stay at that speed, instead of constantly increasing and decreasing speed which you should know burns more gas.
