I have noticed that not many on this forum don't go with BFG's. I have had a couple sets of BFG All Terrains on a old Chevy pickup that I had and thought they were great, was able to get 50k+ miles out of each set and think they have a good look to them.
Next week I will be buying my first set of tires for this H3 and i think I am going to go with the 285/70 r16 (I think that was the size Discount told me they were. Is there any specific reason most are going with the Nitto's or Dura trac's? Anyone have pics in their profile with BFG's on their ride?

Are you going to be happy with a stiff ride ? Not much sidewall flex with a 60 aspect ratio.
I wouldn't plan on going off road or climbing anything higher than a speedbump either.

Check out the Cooper Discover ST's if set on 285's. Very aggressive deep tread and after 15k miles I couldn't be happier. I bought them mostly for the East coast snow and occasional offroading and so far they work great for both.

Honestly I hated the BFG AT's when I had them on my colorado. I swore I would never buy them again. Pathetic winter traction and very stiff ride.

Are the axles and driveline components strong enough to handle these beefier tires... reliably?

And 325's on a small SUV is going to make the thing ride like crap.

i run 315 goodyear duratracs on my h3 with the front leved and stock components up front and love the way they look and feel on and off road. the front end can handle this size tire but i wouldnt recommend anything greater in size until you upgrade.

first of all, 325/60/18 are 33x13s. My buddy runs them on his 3/4 ton chevy 4x4.
