Thumbs up 300 HP Diesel for H1

Peninsular Engines just sold another 6.5L diesel for an H1 in the southern states.

If you guys have any questions about diesel power in the H1, bring it. We are your source for information on H1 diesel power.

Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Do you have any capabilities to crack the ecu for tuning of specific trucks vs. a base map like most vendors offer?

We don't do any ECM programming. It's our position that there are resources that are local to you that are probably better suited to
providing that service.

We are, however, an authorized Stanadyne dealer and provide new and rebuilt injection pumps for a range of applications including the high performance market.

Thank You!

do you have any dyno testing on the engines with your injection pumps? we have a engine built by AM engineering and with a new crank, pistons, cam, injectors, custom heads, marine turbo four piston pump and a turbo off of a ford f-350 we can only get 291 hp. i would sell a lot of your pumps if you have dyno testing that i can show to our customers.

Sounds like you may be running a DB4 pump on that engine. DB4 pumps are fussy because the two flow settings on the pump need to be exactly matched or you'll lose horsepower. You might have better luck with a DB2 pump.

We have a dyno in house that we use for testing. But we can only give you accurate information for that specific pump on that specific engine. Variable such as turbo size, precups, and some other things can change the outcome of the same pump on a different engine.

Hope this helps.

Our dyno is currently set up for Marine engines. After the first of the year we plan to have a dyno that will bolt up to your H1. Give us til the first of Feb to get it up and running.

Also, Nick - if you're looking for someone to do some ECU work for you, I believe we have a local shop that will make that happen for you. Contact us at 616.530.1298 if you have any questions.

Question Peninsular Engines

I am planning to bring an old 25' boat back to life so it can be used for fishing not too far from shore, it originally came with a Mercruiser 5.7L but I was wondering if I can use a GM 6.5L turbo diesel engine from a 1995 Chevy Pickup Truck.

I heard about Peninsular Engines on marine applications and I was wondering where I can find the intake, injectors and fuel pump used on Peninsular Engines.

Why Diessel? On the water, safety comes first and diesel doesn’t blows as easier as gasoline does, secondly it is more cost efficient and since I am not planning to do any racing, 40 knots will be just fine for me.

I was told that I just need the Peninsular fuel Pump and the especial Bosh hi-flow marine injectors, I am not sure if I also need the intake manifold. Marine exhaust manifolds are available at my local marine store and my other question is about the computer, I am not sure if I can use the same programmed for a pickup truck on a marine application
