Hey Dennis, one like that hit West Virginia a few years ago and did about $50,000,000 in improvements.

So...which came first....the tornado or the trailer park? (jk) [sm=smiley2.gif]

So what is Manitoba like? I've never been there. Alberta is stereotyped as I guess Redneck? Saskatchewan is Flat.. Manitoba is miserably cold?

After reading Dennis's story, I guess it's not so bad. 2 of them touched down, one about 1 mile away from us, but thankfully it touched down in a fishing pond and before it hit the shore it went back up again, but it flung some garbage cans into someone's house. Another one touched down about 5 miles away and damaged some new homes and a retirement home. The third one was a funnel cloud that never touched down. No Tornado warnings were issued either, and our system is supposed to be state-of-the-art. So much for this damn weather radio alert system I bought! It doesn't do any good if nobody issues alerts.

This one that happened here was the deadliest single tornado since 1999.

Oh yea.. it came within 1/2 to 1 mile from my house.. Carrie and I were awake watching the news and about freaked when it was heading right for us..

It ended up going just south about 1/2 to 1 mile from us.. but it was windy here...

I believe the E'ville Tornado happened at around 2 am, when everyone was asleep, that's why it caught so many off gaurd..My Brother-in-law in Newburgh..said it missed his house by a block or so..

A friend of mine that lives off of Frisse ave and Beoke area..said it sucked the windows out of his house.

I believe that! That F4 we had go through here years ago had the common curtesy to wake my azz up by rattling the windows loud enough .. Wouldn't mind never going through that again .. I was pretty fresh in the country too .. had not experienced the American weather yet, it's a bit more intense than what I was used to :-) We got flooded that same summer too, not much in the house but had just above knee deep water in the back yard and in the street. The cornfield (I'm in OHIO, ok lol) adjacent to the sub division turned in to a flippin lake .. granted, it wasn't very tall that early on in the year but still a good foot or so .. couldn't tell ..
Luckily that house we were in at the time was on a slab and built up so it sat about 2 feet higher than the street and the back yard was angled away from the house on all three sides ... the neighbors on either side of us however was not as lucky. they both had large quantities of water in their houses.
