2009 H3 - Rear window wiper
My rear window wiper of course is in the center of the rear window. Is it normal for the wiper to only go about 2/3rds from one side to the other in it's cycle. Seems like it should complete a full 180 degrees like most rear units.
I turned mine on yesterday and noticed the ridiculously small swept area too. I gave up trying to use it- like you can see anything out the back anyway! (kinda like with that mid-size sedan that pulled up and parked behind me that I backed over because it was not visible in ANY of the rear views!)

what you are saying is someone decided to park to close
i had one until some minivan decided to rear end me... didnt really use it much anyway. jsut look behind you when you are getting in your 3 (or stick your head out the window). if you get larger tires, then you cant see ANYTHING, i have started parking so i dont have to back up bc of it.
It's pretty common for small and mid sized SUV's to have a pretty short arc for the rear wiper. Heck yesterday when I was out running some errands there was Lexus behind me I didn't see till I turner and she was still right on my ***.
If it is too small to see, don't worry. If they run up your ****, then they will probably be dead after the rear bumper hits the windshield and decapitates them.
If they are large, like a H2 or Semi-Truck, you will see them.
