Just tryin to install one of those rain tracker automatic wiper deals. Their wiring instructions are wrong for the hummer h3. Its a **** off finding that out after being cramped up under the dash trying to do a proper job soldering all the connections. apparently there's a brown wire coming from the switch that's supposed to have 12v power but doesn't. is there any sort of switched +12v or ground wire that kicks in when the wipers are engaged?

the switched 12v is from the relay that gets coil grounded by the bcm. the fuse on the relay output is the sw 12v

I just went through this two weeks a go. The "delayed off" business in the BCM buggers up using an existing switched circuit as a switched 12V source. The simplest way is to put an ATM size "Add-a-Fuse" pigtail in the Fuse #10 spare slot ( labeled "Accessories (SPO)") and run the wire, with appropriate fuse in the new holder, straight to your new accessory switch. If its for a high amp draw like lights, wire it from the battery but via a relay that's controlled by the fuse pigtail at Fuse #10 with a small fuse (like 1-3 A). Use the right wire gauge for the load and length.

(use at your own risk...yada yada.)

so what i'm gathering is my only decent option is using the wire directly off the wiper relay. i'm not looking for any old switched output, just one from the wiper switch that only kicks in when you turn it to intermittent wipe.
