2008 Hummer H2 Electric Heater
Hi I was wondering if these 2008 H2 Hummers come with the engine block electric heater? I looked but did not see any Male adapter plugs for my extension cord
My '06 did not. I had to take it to the dealer and have them install the block heater, batt heater and oil pan heater. It ran me around $400. Yes I know I could have done it cheaper myself, but I was lazy and new to the vehicle at the time.
An oil pan heater?? I'm guessing it's magnetic. do you have any pix of the installation so would know how to rig the wiring.
I am not at home this week to take pics. The oil pan heater is an electric heater pad commonly found at NAPA stores here in Alaska. It is secured via a high temp silicon and the plug is run to the engine compartment where it is usually combined in a 3- or 4-outlet "pigtail" with the block heater plug and battery heater plug so that one male ended plug is sticking out the front of the vehicle to plug in to your extension cord.
I say usually because I have seen some vehicles with just an oil pan heater so no need for a pigtail. Not an ideal set-up for extreme cold though.
