I'm taking my wife's base seat out and replacing with an electric one. Does anybody have a wiring diagram?
It only has 3 wires to connect
1 large orange
1 small orange
1 small black
the large orange I'm guessing is a constant hot 12 volt
the small orange I'm guessing is ignition 12 volt
the small black I'm guessing is ground
however, I don't want to smoke anything. So any help would be greatly app.

 

blk = ground

one hot to move seat with no key

one hot switched for heat,so you dont kill batt

for safety u could use a 10a fused test lead to check or get juice from fused cigar lighter/ accs.

Determinately not a new seat, maybe a motor or the switch . also could be corrosion in the wiring. hard to say blindly.

 

Thanks, I especially like the fuse ideal. I'll see how this works. I've got to hard wire it since I bought the seat and I don't have the male connector.
