2008 h3 alpha ac blowing warm air
When I turn on ac I hear the clutch going on and off and I feel warm air coming out of the vents. I added Freon and same thing. I also recalibrated it and still same issue. Anyone have any other suggestions My H3 only has 50k on it so I hope nothing major is the issue.
The clutch cycling on and off is due to either a low pressure or a high pressure. Normally, it will be due to having too little freon in the system. Step 1 should be to take it to an AC repair place. They well evacuate the freon, pull a vacuum on the line (which may indicate a leak in the system at this time), and recharge the system with the correct amount of freon. This usually costs ~$50-75. They should be able to point you in the right direction.
Yeah, the sealer is definately not the way to go. The H3 AC system is simple enough that most leaks can be easily identified and fixed for not a whole lot of money. If you had a Suburban with rear AC and you had a leak, then it could start to get tricky. The can of sealer can also cause oriface tubes and other valves to become plugged, which will eventually block freon flow. Fixes in a bottle do not always fix the problem, but they usually cause more problems down the road.
