Help! My Driver window control failed. I found out it is not just the one needing replacing , it's the whole driver contol panel including locks and mirror control. I found the part online , however, it says it must be taken to the dealer to re program the mirror control. Really? does anyone know how to do this without using the dealer?

I just called my local Chevrolet Dealership to inquire about the price of programming the Window contoller. This was their response...(parafraising)
Since GM was purchased by the government, we do not perform or garuntee warranty service work any longer on Hummer or SAAB. WHAT? We choose not to perform this work on your Hummer vehicle. If you require or service deprtment to perform this work, we must advise you that it is at your risk, and we will not be held responsible for the work....We will however suggest service options for you. HUH?

When did this happen in the USA? Any thoughts or comments?.. Have any of you come across this yet?
