Hello All,

I have a 2003 H2 with 117k miles. Today the compressor started running and would not turn off. After several minutes of running I hear a hissing / air pressure release sound and then the compressor continues to run. I looked at both air shocks and they appear to be equally inflated with no noticeable cracks or ruptures.

Is this a symptom of a bad air shock or a sensor or? What should I check for next?

Its most likely bad air bags. They are not that expensive and fairly easy to replace. If you don't replace them you will burn up your compressor and that is big $$

 

Just back from a business trip and replaced the air shocks. The compressor continued to cycle on/off so I took the H2 to the dealer this afternoon. They hooked the car up to a diagnostic scanner and found a bad relay on the compressor board. Should have that replaced on Monday and have the H2 back on the road!

Unfortunately while at the dealers they found a water pump leak so that will get replaced as well.
