Default 18" or 20" wheel swap

I'm contemplating swapping the OEM chrome 16"s for either 18" or 20"s.
Just wondering if any members here run them and what are the drawbacks ?
Also, what profile to go for with 18" and 20" respectively ?
I put a 20" wheel that had a 295/40/20 tire on it, next to my own 16", and it looked 2 inches lower.
I know that bigger wheels will definitely look better on the H3 , but I dont want to trade looks for absolute discomfort.
Also can they still offroad with bigger wheels ? no hard trails, just the occasional beaten track.

I am personally getting the 18s with 325/60s on them. They are 33in tall by 13 in wide.

Check out this site tires1010.com
Go to the tire size calculator and enter your stock tire size then below enter the size you want to get.
This will show you a size comparison and will alert you if you are making changes that could have an effect on your speedometer or other things.
The tolerance they suggest is 3%.
If it changes the speedo - it will most likely change the MPG.
i have some 20's for sale in the classifieds here - check them out..

I have 24"s on mine and it rides beautiful. Just make sure you get a big profiled tire. In my opinion anything smaller then a 24" looks funny, coz the H3 has such a large wheel arch even the 24" looks small to me now, but cant really go much bigger without loosing profile.

Although I don't recommend this size wheel if you 4WD alot, ive jumped mine all 4 wheels in the air a few times and they have stood up, but not sure how long they could do this for ...

Dukes : thanks for the site info..I'll check it out.
Chad : as much as I love going for 24" s , i think it's too big for comfort..
20"s seem great at the moment with 55 profile..will keep the ride somewhat acceptable
