Man I'm lucky to get 11mpg[:'(] So I might be giving IK some competition But I guess that's the price you pay for running 35's. I'm hoping a CAI and exhaust will bring me up to at least 14/15mpg. Wishful thinking huh...

I'm in the middle of my long road trip from Phoenix to Kansas, Colorado, Utah and back to Phoenix. I've done over 1800 miles so far. About 200 of that was city. Another 200 was state highway through mountains. Many hundreds were flat interstate miles. So, what's that all mean?

Only getting 15-16.5 on the highway, running 70-80 (depending on speed limits). Always on cruise control. Non-adventure, 32s, auto trans. Started with 1500 on the odometer of my '07 H3 so it was fairly broken in. I was hoping for 17-18. Engines vary a bit from truck to truck, maybe I just got one that's less efficient. I'm going to keep an eye on it. Any ideas?

to compute the mpg.

Fill the tank
Reset the odometer
Drive
Fill the tank
Record gallons purchased
Record miles driven since odometer was reset
Divide miles driven by gallons purchased.

i.e. I drove 320 miles, purchased 19.7 gallons. My mpg was 16.24 mpg.

Update-- on my last two tanks of gas, where I basically traversed the highway and mountains between Denver and Grand Junction (back and forth) I got 18.8 and 18.9 on the two tankfulls. I'm stoked! It's right where I wanted for my auto.
