has any one replaced the bad designed 2007 door pannel interior skin (window buttons in a bad location) with the 2009 door pannel with the new design (reconfigured arm rest) ?

The 2007's started out with the old (buttons on the flat) design then the new (buttons on the slant) design was phased in.
I have heard of people who have replaced thier 2006 panels with the new design 2007 panels.
So I would think that an old design 2007 panel could be replaced with any new design panel from 2007, 2008 or 2009.

 

There is a different (longer) wiring harness to reach the new controls. It moved the controls about 7 or 8 inches and the old harness didn't have that kind of slack.

I believe there was an extension to the wire that they used to retro-fit midway through production. Other than that getting the longer harness, everything else should fit fine.

 

dealership said like $800-$900 for them to do it with new parts.
maybe ill look for used parts from a wrecked '08 h3...
