Question 07 H3 Rear camera suggestion requested...

All,

I moved this from the Interior forum. I apologize for multi posting. I have read many posts regarding the backup cameras on these boards and need some help. With the vast selection available, I was wondering if anyone can make some recommendations. I am looking for a screen that I don't have to screw, glue or tape to the interior. I have seen some visor mounted screens, but can't seem to find anything decent. Also, in terms of the camera, since the license plates on H3's are off to the side, I assume I would have to screw it to the bumper.

Bottom line, I am looking for some suggestions so I can make my final decision in the next day or so.

Thanks in advance.

Joe

I installed one on my 2008 H3. I bought mine from Advance Auto for $49.99 and it has a 2.5 inch screen. It is wireless so no need to wire the system through the cabin. The view cam is mounted on top of my license plate and even though it is on the left side of the car there is a button on the monitor body for you to toggle left and right to see to the far right side behind the car. I have been using it for 9 months and it is very useful when backing up.

Thanks. Does the monitor mount on the visor?

No, it comes with a suction cup, and it is just like a car GPS, you can either mount it on the windshield, or you can use the circular sticky pad to mount it on the dash. I have it mounted on the dash closer to the passenger side and it is perfect for me.
