Default New guy here

Hey guys, been looking into purchasing an H1 and need an opinion. A video I watched warned of corrosion between the aluminum and metal bodies of the wagon style hummers. They mentioned that when a seal fails, the dissimilar metals react and mess up the paint and body. Does anyone have experience with this, or have any pictures of this issue? Any advice for a new prospective owner?

Thanks,

steve

so id really like to find a wagon for myself, but was concerned for that oxidation between the metals, would you say it diesnt happen that often?

I saw anither vid in my research and the dude selling the truck was basically advertising that they’d fixed that part of the paint where the oxidation would occur

this is where the rust and oxidation from dissimilar metals would occur.

unfortunately it is very common on H1's. it also happens at the roof seams. the correct way to fix it is to separate the panels , repair them and put them back together. you can see some videos on it on YT look for predator inc

It happens some. Trucks that spend most of their time outside seem to get it more often. Ther area where the top meets the rear fenders is the most common place. On the back of the truck around the barn doors is the next most common area.

appreciate the input, it makes sense. Might be hard to find one that has been living indoors for most of its life, but not impossible.

i found one for sale that has front and rear air lockers, was this standard on the h1, or was it added as an aftermarket option?

thanks, Steve
