Thanks guys! Yeah I am bummed that he destroyed the parts but I also got a great deal on it. I told him flat out that he destroyed the value of the truck. From a distance it looks great, it is just when you get up close that you can see it was a cheap paint job. Where parts overlap other parts you can still clearly see the black wasn't covered completely and the paint is peeling. I agree that pasti-dip would only really be a temporary solution but if I like the look I could always redo it periodically. A buddy of mine did a grill in black plastidip like 2 years ago and it still looks great.
I have also thought of replacing the parts with used parts, but even used ones are faded anyway. So I am kind of debating some options. I have to say at first I was 100% sold on returning them to black one way or another but it is actually starting to grow on me. I may have a body shop re-spray the parts a little better.
I really appreciate everyone's input!

All the trim minus the center sections under the doors are easy to come off. Plasti dip is garbage, at least in AZ where the sun is hell. Many of us played around with it when it was a big thing back when but eventually you will want something permanent. I did the vast majority of my plastics and bumpers in Raptor Liner and it looks amazing. You are kind of stuck with a junk painting job, the only way it proper prep of those plastics which would mean sanding down to bare plastic but then you would need to coat with something, paint or bedliner or some sort.

Without getting into specifics it is basically a two part epoxy based product with a sprayer. The bottles screw on the sprayer and you go to work. It is all in the prep though. You will spend 10x the time prepping than spraying. There are pics in my build thread if you are curious how it turned out. It is a lot of work but I don't think anything looks better honestly and it is much cheaper than having bedliner sprayed on them from a company such as Line-X.
