Default Hummers, KITT, IHC and Camp Quality

Our Hummer club does alot of charity events, none of which unfortunately I have had time to participate in since joining because of me moving multiple times and having a home built. The main event that the club sponsors is this one:

http://www.illianahummerclub.com/cam...uality2006.htm

and for this organization:

http://www.campqualityusa.org/

The camp is for teminally ill and cancer recovering children. The main reason I joined this club was because of what they do for people. HummerMike is actually the one that recruited me after seeing me on here and the other Hummer forum. This event specifically is great. They (hopefully WE this year) take the Hummers and use them as shuttles to get the kids to and from the camp, and I believe there is some police escort and a parade involved. I know the club has done a Hummer parade I believe for this event but I can't be certain.

Anyway, the reason I have been so into drawing attention to my truck is because last year we were supposed to be in the Chicago World of Wheels show, which is why I installed the first light setup. I did it to attract attention to our tent and get people to take notice to this organization and what they do. Unfortunately due to some conflicting logistics with the show sponsors, at the last minute we were told we could not participate, even though the year before the club (before I was a memeber) won the best display of the show. Apparently after Dodge took major corporate sponsorship, we magically were denied access to the show. Big Surprise.

The point is I have worked at refining this KITT thing as well as everything else in my truck in hopes of making these various charity events the club does and drawing attention to the cause by doing something creative. The Knight Rider K.I.T.T. lighting and sounds are surely guaranteed to do that, especially with the adult crowd and my successful acquisition of Route 66 "KITT" plates.

I didn't do this for some childhood fantasy or mid-lifecrisis. It took ALOT of time both times I did this to design and wire this to make it work. If I didn't have a cause, I would not have ever done it and spent the money and time it took TO do it.

Last year I should have made more of an attempt to make the events. I honestly have a very big weak spot for sick children, and I have a feeling I'm going to have to suck up my apathy/sympathy and emotions and make these events this year.

Anyway, our local Mid-west club is the Illiana Hummer Club, with our new web site to go up in the next few weeks. This club probably has more events then any other club in the country, although "Sgt" in the NY club is doing a great job also.

The club site address is www.illianahummerclub.com

Patrick and I are slowly working on a dedicated local Hummer Club channel that we will hopefully be creating soon in which I will probably be in charge of.

I waited to post all of this information until my truck was finished with the new mods/toys and I had my head on straight to explain it properly.

I urge anybody that is involved in a Hummer Club to go that extra mile to give a little bit back to the community, especially children, and try to make people open their eyes and realize there are more to all of us Hummer owners they our non-existant egos. Hopefully over the next few years we can make a difference with this new section and give some kids some smiles in their lives before it's too late.

I hope this also lays to rest my rhyme and reasons for not being here much and working so hard on getting this truck done. I have a

Great job HG. We can all do more. Whether it is Toys For Tots, Hope, local charities, etc. we can all do more. My personal soft spots are the USO and the Wounded Warrior Project. Everyone has something that is near and dear to them that they can support. Pick your personal favorite, support it however you are ableand believe it or not you will make a difference.
